Fish Lips Soup in a Very Old House

Jakarta - At first I was confused when arriving at this restaurant. Because the name Batavia restaurant, I had hoped would find a variety of Betawi traditional food, such as: rice uduk, soto Betawi, and the like. Apparently, the items that do not appear on the menu. It was only later I realized that the name of Batavia was chosen to represent the atmosphere of old days when most of Jakarta was called Batavia. This restaurant is an old house is laid out with a variety of antique ornaments as well.

The menu is a combination of popular Nusantara cuisine and Chinese cuisine. Which makes it quite unique is a stroller that contains a variety of chili every time the table is pushed to the guests to choose from. Several types of top-quality sauces markotop.

For me, Batavia restaurant offers a menu that is too broad. I'm not sure that it is the right strategy. Properly, it would be better to focus on just a few dishes that are popular.Kinda hard to imagine my guests mix and match fish lip soup with honey and goat grilled squid Pepes.
Finally, by chance I chose fish lip soup (USD 40-60 thousand, depending on size), Peking Duck (USD 55 thousand), and honey grilled shrimp (Rp 33 thousand per 100 grams).
I do not know, if I'm lucky or does the quality of the cuisine in this restaurant Batavia are all special, but I have three menu's message turned out to be the right choice. Fish lip soup may hold. Fish lips fish lips dry from the type imported from China - not the fresh fish lips as I've ever tasted in Medan. So is the Peking Duck was a juicy and plump the skin greasy.
