9 Steps to Stay Healthy in Your Office

1. Do not cross your legs. Crossing your legs can cause lower back pain. It can also reduce the circulation that can contribute to varicose veins.

2. Straighten your legs. Straighten the legs while sitting can keep the pelvis and hips balanced while you sit in a chair.

3. Add the load. By putting one foot in the phone book or a box, you put pressure on the lumbar spine. Do both feet alternately.

4. Reaching down. Straighten your arms beside your chair to bring blood flow to the spine.

5. Stretch your chest. Straighten your arms parallel to the chest and fingers pointing upwards to squeeze your shoulder blades. This stretch open the chest muscles that are feeling the stress during the work.

6. Set the work space. Ergonomics is the key to health while you are in office; adjustyour computer monitor to eye level, try not to lean while talking on the phone but use a headset instead, and so forth.

7. Walk. Get up from your office chair. Provide regular breaks for you to walk in between work. Standing at least every 30 minutes to increase blood circulation and stretch your muscles are tense.

8. Good posture. When you sit down, practice good posture by pulling the stomach in ward.

9. Take a deep breath.
Take a deep breath to the count of the right to reduce bloodpressure, stress, and gives you more energy.
